Carlo Ancelotti ‘begged Real Madrid boss Florentino Perez to sign the Serie A duo

Leão has become one of Europe’s hottest properties at AC Milan and is sought after by Europe’s biggest clubs, with Chelsea and Manchester City poised to challenge the Portuguese star.

Leão was named Serie A MVP for 2021-22 and has continued to shine once again this season, scoring six goals and adding nine more assists in just 17 games so far in Serie A and the Champions League.

And with Leon’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2024, Milan are considering cashing in on the striker if the right offer is made, as they don’t want to risk losing another star on a free transfer.

Leão is demanding club-record salaries of £170,000 a week to stay at the San Siro, which could see players like Real take advantage of the situation in the new year.

While Leão has been lighting up Serie A with AC Milan, Ancelotti is also interested in making a double charge for Osimhen – .

The Nigerian striker has been firing on all cylinders for Napoli, scoring nine goals in 13 games in all competitions, helping Luciano Spalletti to the top of Serie A, where they are on a 14-game unbeaten streak.

The need for a striker comes after Benzema, who recently won the Ballon d’Or, was sidelined with a leg injury and is unlikely to return to Real until after the World Cup.

Despite the inconsistency in his fitness this season, Benzema has still managed six goals and an assist in 11 games, but his campaign so far has made it difficult for him to replicate the form he achieved last season.

On his way to becoming the oldest player to win a first Ballon d’Or since Stanley Matthews more than six decades ago, Benzema led Real Madrid with 34 goals and 15 assists in 46 games.
