Chelsea are reportedly ready to sell France international N’Golo Kante, who is said to be attracting interest from Inter Milan.
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have reported that Chelsea are looking to cash in on the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner, with Inter manager Antonio Conte keen to reunite with his former player.
Kante joined the Londoners from Leicester City in 2016 and went on to win the Premier League title during Conte’s reign.
The 29-year-old was previously one of the first names on the team sheet but it seems that his recent injuries and a tweak in tactics have changed Frank Lampard’s mind.
The Frenchman’s current contract at Stamford Bridge only expires in 2023, which would mean any potential buyer would have fork out a large sum of money in order to secure his signature.
The price tag is reportedly not the only stumbling block, as the midfielder’s reported weekly wages of £290 000 (R6.1 million) could also deter potential suitors.
Kante has started only 20 games in the Premier League this season, and only four times since the restart last month, as the Blues look to secure UEFA Champions League football for next season.
