English Premier League side Aston Villa are reportedly hot on the trail of Nigerian international Paul Onuachu, who is in fine form this season. The KRC Genk striker has been scoring goals for his Belgian team and many clubs are interested in him.

The 28-year-old scored 33 goals in 38 league appearances for the Smurfs in the 2020/21 campaign, and last season, he netted 21 times in 35 league games for the former Belgian Pro League champions.

He has continued to find the back of the net, and so far this season he has already registered 13 goals in 14 league outings.

The January transfer window is expected to be an interesting one for the Nigerian as several teams have already expressed interest in him. Aston Villa are looking to add more firepower to their attack despite new manager Unai Emery having Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings at his disposal.

Atletico Madrid eyes Onuachu Meanwhile, Paul Onauchu could be making the biggest transfer of his professional football career, as Atletico Madrid appear to have made an investigation into the Super Eagles striker.

Los Colchoneros are looking to revitalize their attack for next season after a disappointing campaign in which the Spanish giants failed to defend their La Liga crown. Atletico Madrid are currently 15 points behind current table leaders and city rivals Real Madrid. They were also eliminated from the UEFA Champions League in the quarter-finals by Manchester City.
