EPL: Guardiola denies credit for Arteta’s success

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has responded to Premier League legend Rio Ferdinand’s claim that he (Pep) has “created a monster” in Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta.

Arteta worked as Guardiola’s assistant at City but had to leave the Etihad after he was hired to manage Arsenal in 2019.

He joined Arsenal as head coach but became manager after guiding the Gunners to FA Cup glory and has now built an impressive squad of young stars.

They are currently top of the Premier League table after 13 games, two points above Guardiola’s Manchester City.
