EPL: Why did we beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge? Mikel Arteta, Arsenal manager

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has explained why his team defeated Chelsea 1-0 in Sunday’s Premier League derby at Stamford Bridge.

Arteta said that Arsenal beat Chelsea because their players dominated the game and showed a lot of maturity against the Blues.

According to him, the Arsenal players were absolutely phenomenal against the host in front of their fans.

A second-half goal from Gabriel Magalhaes gave the Gunners all three points against Graham Potter’s side.

Speaking at his post-match press conference, Arteta said: “Big win for us. Coming here against a great opponent, dominating the game and winning it is very significant.

“We are a young team, but today we showed a lot of maturity, a lot of composure, a lot of courage to play on this stage as we have.

“That’s easy to say, but actually very difficult to do. I think the guys were absolutely phenomenal today.”
