“He is a great player” – Juric hails Super Eagles star after first Serie A goal of the season

The Nigerian defender contributed a goal and the Italian team claimed their fourth championship win of the campaign

FC Torino coach Ivan Juric applauded Ola Aina for helping the club defeat Udinese at the weekend.

Ola Aina was one of Torino’s top scorers, converting with a deftly trained left-footed shot to help his team seal a well-deserved 2-1 victory away from home.

The goal was Aina’s first of the season and the second for Torino since arriving from Chelsea.

Aina’s goal also comes at a time when the Nigerian winger is enjoying a consistent run in the Torino lineup.

After months of playing in the background for Ivorian defender Wilfried Singo, Aina has seen more action this season. The Super Eagles star made ten league appearances, seven of which he started.

Coach Juric admits that the former Chelsea player is a fantastic player. But he also warns Aina not to let complacency set in, as he could be replaced.

“Singo? For now, Ola Aina is playing and even today he played a great game,” Juric told Corriere dello Sport.

“He (Aina) is a great player, he is doing very well. When he falls, it’s Singo’s turn. Now Aina gives me more reassurance.”

Aina’s first goal for Torino came during the 2018-2019 season, while he was still on loan at the club.
