Joao Félix arrived in London for his medical before joining Chelsea from Atlético Madrid on a season-long loan.
Sportsmail reported on Monday that the Blues are expected to defeat Manchester United and Arsenal with the 23-year-old forward signing on loan.
Chelsea will pay a fee of £9m to sign the Portuguese star with an announcement expected on Wednesday.

The deal is now close to being completed. Her influencer girlfriend, Margarida Corceiro, posted a photo of herself smiling on a private jet on Instagram Tuesday with the caption “Good morning” as she flew to London with Felix.
Felix will move to Stamford Bridge in a move that will also see Chelsea cover all his wages during the loan period, which is equivalent to £5.3m.
However, if he impresses at Chelsea during the second half of this season, Graham Potter’s side may struggle to bring him to the club on a permanent deal.
Marca has reported that the club wants to sign the striker on a one-year extension before sealing his move to Chelsea.
It has been reported that the move to Stamford Bridge would not include the option to buy Felix at the end of the season.
His current contract expires in 2026 but Atlético wants to extend it until 2027 to “reduce the annual amortization and balance their accounts.”
The blues have acted quickly to sign Félix, who has made it clear that he wants to leave Atlético.
United reportedly objected to the loan fee the Spanish giants were demanding and have since turned their attention to former Burnley striker Wout Weghorst.
Arsenal are also looking for reinforcements up front, but were also put off by the price and held talks with Atlético in an attempt to reduce it.
Chelsea are keen to reinvigorate his attack as Graham Potter’s side have struggled in that department since he took over.
Felix, 23, has been inconsistent at Atlético this season. He has scored four goals and given three assists in 14 LaLiga games.
