Manchester City are interested in signing Argentine star Lionel Messi next summer.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker’s contract in France is set to expire next summer, with reports suggesting he may seek new pastures. He has been linked with a return to former club Barcelona, but reports out of Spain now suggest La Blaugrana could face competition for his signing from City.
Fichajes reports that City have “always been interested in signing Messi to have a dream strike with Erling Haaland”. The report adds that City manager Pep Guardiola, who worked with Messi at Barca, is a “key piece in convincing the Argentine to move to the Etihad Stadium”.
But Chelsea are also interested in the Argentine and should be in the picture if he leaves the French capital. Meanwhile, Napoli’s stance on allowing playmaker Kvara Kvaratskhelia to move to Manchester City has been revealed, according to reports.
