Real Madrid interested in signing Antonio Silva from Benfica

Antonio Rudiger was signed by Real Madrid last summer on a free transfer to shore up their defence. The club replaced the Ramos-Varane partnership with Alaba-Rudiger quickly. However, David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger are not getting any younger. That’s why Los Blancos are interested in signing Portuguese sensation Antonio Silva.

The young defender has been in excellent form this season and has been linked with many top clubs. The Portuguese was also called up to the national team for the FIFA World Cup. At such a young age, the defender has shown excellent composure and ability at the top level.

Eder Militão was signed as a long-term option as a defender for Porto. The deal turned out pretty well for the European champions and so a similar takeover from the Portuguese league might not be a bad option for the club.

Benfica has developed an excellent system for prospecting young talent. A number of top players in the world at this time have come from Benfica’s academy. The club is run on the basis of selling top talent for profit and reinvesting it in new talent.

However, the club has learned to negotiate better in recent seasons. They made good sales and bought smartly to generate a lot of profit for the club. The Portuguese giants are looking to do the same with Antonio Silva.

The club has put a price tag of €100m on the player. The Spanish club, however, is not willing to pay a huge sum for the defender. However, Los Blancos have an amazing negotiation tactic up their sleeves. The gimmick is called Florentino Perez. The president has an incredible transfer record and fans are hoping this is one of those cases!
