Ronaldo would be ‘happy’ to see Arsenal win the Premier League title

Cristiano Ronaldo has admitted that he would be happy to see Arsenal win the Premier League, if Manchester United cannot become champions.

The Portugal star has grabbed headlines with an explosive interview broadcast this week, in which he criticized his bosses, current manager Erik ten Hag and his former team-mates Wayne Rooney and Gary Neville.

His comments have led to a growing expectation that a quick exit from Old Trafford is on the cards after the World Cup in Qatar when the January transfer window opens, and his admission into the Premiership title race. League will cause a bigger stir.

United have struggled for stability in the Premier League this season, while Arsenal have only lost once, at Old Trafford, as they seek their first top-flight crown since going unbeaten in 2004-05.

If that happened, Ronaldo has admitted that he would be happy with the result.

“I hope so. Manchester United first, if not Arsenal. It’s a team I like to watch play,” he told Piers Morgan’s Uncensored on TalkTV.

“I like the team, I like the manager. I think they have a good team and if Manchester United don’t win the Premier League, I’ll be happy if Arsenal do.”

Arsenal hold a five-point lead over Manchester City after 14 rounds of Premier League action, with United 11 points behind the Gunners.
