Napoli manager Luciano Spalletti praised striker Victor Osimhen after his team thrashed Juventus 5-1 on Friday to extend their Serie A lead.
Napoli moved 10 points clear at the top of the standings after snapping Juventus’ eight-match winning streak in Serie A.
Serie A top scorer Osimhen was instrumental in securing Napoli’s victory, as he tormented the Juve defense throughout the match, while he scored twice and provided an assist.
The 24-year-old Nigerian has scored 12 times in Serie A this season.
“Osimhen is a great striker. I am in awe of the potential he has and excited to see what he will do in the future,” Spalletti told DAZN.
“There were these two or three balls on the touchline and he has the pace, the skill, the grit and the physicality to deal with those situations.
“After all, he hit his face a couple of times because he goes for every ball. He still has remarkable room for improvement.”
Spalletti praised the team for their commanding performance.
“It’s a wonderful night because the team played very well and kept the pace up, which is what we have to do, and above all the crowd provided a great atmosphere,” said Spalletti.
