The success comes from the bench to rescue a point to Udinese

Super Eagles forward Isaac Success came off the bench to help Udinese earn a point at home to Lecce as they missed out on a chance to break into the top four following a 1-1 draw at the Dacia Arena , reports AOIFootball.com.

Udinese were winless in their last five games in all competitions, Nigerian striker Isaac Success finding himself starting from the bench while right-back Kingsley Ehizibue made his first league start of the season.

Clearly under pressure to change their current form, the hosts were the brighter of the two teams, but found themselves behind in the game just after the half-hour mark.

A lucky Lorenzo Colombo saw his early effort blocked by a Udine player, but the ball kindly returned to the young Italian who fired home afterwards for 1-0.

Not content with his team’s lack of cutting edge in the game, Andrea Sottil introduced Success four minutes past the hour mark with the move that made an immediate impact.

Four minutes after his introduction, the Nigerian found space inside the area before crossing the goal in agreement for the Portuguese striker Beto to make it 1-1.

The hosts then tried to push for a late winner, but Lecce were more resolute defensively as both teams shared the point with Udinese remaining seventh in the standings.
