Top 10 players with the most goals in the Bundesliga 2022-23

Who will win this season’s “Torjägerkanone”?

The Bundesliga is one of Europe’s top leagues and has produced a number of top strikers with exceptional scoring skills. Lewandowski, Aubameyang and Erling Haaland are recent examples. However, as the Polish striker dominated the competition, we will know who will win this time.
Niclas Fulkrug has been at the top of the scorers list. Ever since he helped Werder Bremen get promoted to the top flight this season, he seems determined to take home the Bundesliga’s golden boot. Let’s take a look at the other contestants in the competition.

10. Jeremie Frimpong – 5 goals
The young talent is at an eureka moment in the Bundesliga this season, scoring five goals in 11 league matches for Bayern Leverkusen. Frimpong came from Celtic. He was Celtic’s rawest and most talented player, and the club’s fans voted him Young Player of the Year for the 2019-20 season.
Frimpong joined Leverkusen in 2020 and quickly became their star player; in his last season, he scored just two goals in 34 games, but this season has been different, with four goals in ten games.

9. Dodi Lukebakio – 5 goals
With five goals in 11 games, Lukebakio leads Hertha Berlin in goals scored. This was the defining year of his career and he made the most of it. He is in contention for the golden boot with five goals and will try to add to that total in the next games.

8. Leroy Sané – 5 goals
Sane has been galloping for Bayern; the player is the club’s top scorer in the UEFA Champions League and is tied with teammate Mané in goals scored by Bayern Munich. Sane has had more freedom to score goals since Lewandowksi’s departure, and he made the best use of it and contributed in every game. The German international, however, suffered an injury during the game and it is unknown when he will be able to play again.

7. Sadio Mané – 5 goals
Many Anfield fans were surprised when Mane left Liverpool, and the player’s arrival at his new club was met with great optimism. Despite the fact that Mane was not a replacement for Lewandowksi, he provided pace and early goals.
His new life at Bayern Munich was nothing short of a success, and the player has adapted very well to the league and his teammates. Mané has scored five goals so far and remains a crucial player for the German team.

6. Sherlado Becker – 6 goals
The player only scored six goals during the entirety of last season, but this season he has already surpassed that total with six goals in 14 games, and Becker is in excellent condition for Union Berlin. As a result of his four goals and two assists in matches during the month of August 2022, he became the first Union Berlin player to be named Bundesliga Player of the Month. This player undeniably qualifies as a candidate for the Golden Boot.

5. Daichi Kamada – 6 goals
With six goals so far this season and three more, the attacking midfielder will tie the previous season’s record of nine goals in the 2021-22 season. Last season, Frankfurt’s victory in the Europa League was greatly aided by Kamada. Kamada anticipates continuing his recent success this year and has the potential to score goals to win the golden boot.

4. Jamal Musiala – 6 goals
Musiala, a promising youngster in football, has already established himself in the league with six goals at the age of 19. Musiala is the most important player for Bayern and has an impressive pace of work. However, he has excelled this year and if he continues his exceptional form of scoring goals, he could win the golden boot.

3. Christopher Nkunku – 8 goals
Nkunku, one of the Bundesliga’s top strikers, finished third in goals scored last season, behind Lewandowski and Haaland. He is also sought after by several European clubs due to his improvement into one of the continent’s top strikers. But for now, the French international is still a significant factor in RB Leipzig.

Nkunku continued where he left off, as usual. In addition, the player has eight goals and is motivated to take home the first golden boot of the Bundesliga.

2. Marcus Thuram – 8 goals
Thuram has got off to a good start this season after a disastrous final that landed him a six-game suspension for spitting on an opponent. The player is optimistic and poses a significant threat in front of goal. Furthermore, he scored eight goals for the team and became an important striker for Borussia Mönchengladbach. He will also compete for the golden boot alongside other strikers.

1. Niclas Fulkrug – 8 goals
Fulkrug finished the previous campaign with 19 goals, but if they can maintain consistency this time around, they will likely surpass that total. Fulkrug are just one goal ahead of Thuram in the Bundesliga goal run with eight goals, but we still have a long season ahead of us and Fulkrug have already made their presence felt.

The 29-year-old forward, who was named Bundesliga player of the month in September, plans to maintain his propensity to score.
